Private Charlesworth, aged 24, only son of Mrs Charlesworth of 38 Bank St. Mexboro’ was killed in action in France between October 19th and 24th.

He went to France in September, 1917. Previous to enlistment, he was employed at Denaby Main Colliery. He leaves a widow and one child, who reside at 19, Schofield St., Mexborough.

Mexborough and Swinton Times December 1, 1917

Pte. Norman Dennis (22), of 20, Dolcliffe road, Mexboro’, has been missing since Oct. 22. He had been nearly three years in the Army. He enlisted in the K.O.Y.L.I. and went to Egypt, subsequently transferring to the Manchester Regt., for service in France.
