Ralph Burkinshaw, Mexborough’s opening batsmen, made a holiday of their Feast matches. On Saturday, again Swinton he hit up 122 not out, on Monday against Denaby, he had 56 in total of 114, and on Tuesday, against Hickleton, he fell only one short of another 50, losing his wicket to a great ball from Hoyland when he was 49.

His aggregate for the three games was227 for twice out. It is a great many years since Mexborough last won all three feast games.

Eric Rawlin took 50 wickets for 49 runs throughout last weekend’s hat-trick of victories.
