Lance Corporal William A Scott, 49 Main St, Mexborough, has been awarded the Military Medal for bravery.

He has served at the Front both with a Trench Mortar Battery and in charge of a Stokes gun.

He is 20 years of age, and enlisted in November 1914.

Previously he was employed at Manvers Main.
