Men of The Broke

The photograph was taken at Adwick on Dearne, shows stoker William Jervis Pashley (left) and stalker Herbert Clark (right), two of the crew of HMS Broke, who took part in the famous Channel fight of April 20. (Battle of Dover Strait.)

Stoker Pashley is the son of Mr and Mrs William Patrick of Adwick on Dearne and his best mate Stoker Clark, was wounded in the fight and was visiting him when the photograph was taken. Clark is a Sheffield man.
