This photo was probably taken in 1897 and shows Mr Frank Gibson and other pupils of Hudson school, Garden Street, Mexborough.

When Mr Gibson moved from his home in Mexborough 29 years ago to Hoyland, after owning a grocery store there, he lost touch with his former school friends but recalls at three brothers in the photograph have made a name for themselves on the local amateur stage.
