Private George Bayes
(York and Lancs)

Dolcliffe Road, Mexborough, eldest son of Mr and Mrs GH Bayes of Central Buildings, High Street, has been invalided from France with dysentery, and he is in hospital in Manchester. Private Bayes is well known and esteemed in the district, especially in athletic circles.

He was formerly a regular member of the Mexborough cricket team, and a very promising batsmen.

He enlisted with brother Ernest, who is still in France.
