A wedding of considerable interest took place at Mexborough Parish Church on Tuesday between Miss Mabel Eley, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Eley, 38, Wellington Street, Mexborough, and Mr. William Henry Bellhouse, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Bellhouse, 14, Sunbeam Street, Beeston Hill, Leeds.

The Rev. W. P. Ind officiated. The bridegroom, who is now a chemist in London, was formerly at Jones, chemists, Mexborough. The service was choral, Mr. Fletcher being the organist. The hymn “The Voice that breathed o’er Eden” was sung. The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly gowned in white georgette, cut on classical lines and trimmed with lace. She carried a shower bouquet of sweet peas. The bridesmaids were Misses Kitty, Betty and Molly Eley (sisters of the bride), and Miss Marjory Bellhouse (sister of the bridegroom). They wore dresses of floral georgette in pastel shades, trimmed with white organdie, with organdie picture hats, and carried Madonna lilies. The bridegroom’s gifts to the bridesmaids were diamante dress clips.

A reception was held at the White House Cafe where the bride’s mother, dressed in navy blue silk marocain and hat to tone, received the guests. The bridegroom’s mother was attired in a black and white crepe dress with hat to match. The bride and bridegroom, who have received many useful presents, then left for Reigate, Surrey, for their honeymoon.
