Mexborough – Gidney & Jacques

At Mexboro’ Parish Church last Thursday, the Rev. E. B. A. Somerset officiating, Miss Lucie Bushell Gidney, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Gidney, 28, Cowper Road, Mexboro’, was married to Mr. John Jacques, eldest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. C. Jacques, Retford House, Herbert Street, Mexboro’.

Mr. Albert Wilson was best man, and Mr. J. H. Gidney groomsman.

The bride was given away by her father. The bridal gown was of ivory crepe lace, with a Juliet cap and tulle veil; the bouquet was a “shower” of Ophelia roses. The attendants, Miss K. Coy (bridesmaid) and Mrs. J. H. Gidney (matron of honour), wore green and peach crêpe, with black picture hats. Their bouquets were all Ophelia roses. The bride’s mother was attired in wine floral georgette, and the bridegroom’s mother in navy and white crepe de Chine. A reception was held by the bride’s parents at her home, and the honeymoon is being spent at New Brighton.
