The Mexboro’ Town football team has been revived.

The Denaby strike, which was illegal from the very beginning, has almost collapsed in its 38th week.


The Sheffield law case, Graves v. Muir Wilson, will be heard at the Leeds Assizes in August next.


The pastures at present represent a monstrous lake, the water covering at least 100 acres in extent.


The longest previous strike at Denaby lasted 32 weeks. It is to be hoped this dispute will be the last.


Some lovely specimens of King’s swans may be seen on the large expanse of water on Mexboro’ pastures.


The Denaby and Cadeby Main intimidation cases are fixed to be heard on Tuesday next, at Leeds Assizes.

A sacred concert will take place in Mexboro’ Theatre on Sunday week, in aid of the local unemployed distress fund.


It is conjectured that when the new line is completed a new colliery shaft will be sunk in the neighbourhood of Hooton.

A ballot was taken at the football club meeting on Tuesday night, to decide where the headquarters of the club should be.


There were only 30 persons in the room, but on counting the votes, it was found that 33 had been handed in.


The tradesmen of Mexboro’ are grumbling about the damage which is continually being done to their premises by “loafers,” who lounge near the shops after closing hours.


In many cases, the shop window frames have been wilfully cut by knives, and much damage has been done.


We are confident the police will give their attention to this complaint now it has been mentioned.


A Mexboro’ family, seven in all, left Mexboro’ on Wednesday, en route for Canada. They were booked at the Mexboro’ Shipping Office, by Mr. Turner.


The Denaby Main Tradesmen’s Cricket and Football Club announce a social in the Rossington Street Schools, Denaby, for Easter Monday evening.


The Mexboro’ Electrical Works will have completed twelve months’ work on May 31st this year, on which date the present engineer’s contract terminates.

On Thursday, April 2nd, two special sermons will be preached in Mexboro’ Wesleyan Chapel, on behalf of the new Church Fund, by the Rev. A. Moorhouse, M.A., B.D., of Manchester.


A grand Sacred Concert will be given in Mexboro’ Theatre, on Sunday evening, March 29, in aid of Denaby Miners’ Distress and Mexboro’ Glassworkers’ Relief Funds.


The Great Central Railway authorities have decided to light Mexboro’ station, goods station, and yard and sidings with electricity from the Mexboro’ Urban Council Works.


On Saturday Mr. Ernest Gray, M.P., at Doncaster, complained of Yorkshire, particularly the West Riding, being behindhand with its schemes for carrying out the new Education Act.


A contract has been let to Mr. Fidler, builder, of Sheffield, for the erection of new premises for the York City and County Banking Company, at Mexboro’, and building operations are likely to be commenced immediately.


The Rev. John Slater, secretary of the Primitive Methodist Missionary Society, died at Manchester on Tuesday. Deceased was one of the foremost prominent ministers in the denomination. At one time he was the minister elect for the Adams’ Memorial Chapel, at Wombwell.


It is currently reported that the new Central Post Office for Mexboro’ is likely to be near Mexboro’ Market Place. On making official enquiry, we learn that nothing definite has been done in the matter up to the present, although it is not at all improbable. A letterbox has been sanctioned for residents in Victoria Road district, on the Common, which will be a great convenience.


At the annual meeting of the West Riding Federation of School Boards, held at Leeds on Saturday last, under the presidency of Mr. W. Claridge, M.A. (chairman of the Bradford School Board), when 56 boards were represented, Mr. C. Brumpton (chairman of the Mexboro’ School Board) was elected a member of the Executive Committee for the ensuing year.


Messrs. Hirst and Smith, secretaries of the Denaby and Cadeby Relief Fund, desire on behalf of the women and children of Denaby to thank the army of sympathisers who assisted in making the concert at the Prince of Wales Hotel, Wath Road, Mexboro’, on behalf of the relief fund, such a success. After paying all expenses, the sum of £25 has been handed to the committee, and they are desirous of tendering their thanks to the host and president, and all who in any way assisted towards this magnificent donation.
