The annual “25” of the Mexborough Wheelers over the Retford course on Sunday proved a great success, with the going extremely good and little or no wind.
The finish was very close. The fastest times were Bert Cliff, l hr. 7mins. 50 sec; 2 Jack Hall 1-7-59; 3 Howard Lambert 1-4-0. The fastest handicap time by S. Oldfield with I-11-39, a big improvement on his last years’ time of 1-20-0.
The race was followed by a run to Blyth where dinner and tea were taken.
Sunday’s run will be to Monsal Dale; meet West Street, 9 a.m.
