Returned Home

Sunburnt and fit, Mexborough soldier, Corporal Frank Smith (25), youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Smith, of 30, Adwick Road, arrived home on Monday after being abroad for 5½ years.

Corporal Smith enlisted about nine years ago, and after three years’ service in this country went to Palestine.  Serving with the Royal Corps of Signals, he has been in Palestine, Egypt, Cyprus and Syria.  He speaks particularly well of the good food he and his comrades have had while abroad.

He wears the ribbon for good general service in Palestine.
