Mr. K. P. Harrop
Mexbro’ Man Dies at Whitley Bay
Mr. Reginald Percy Harrop, late of Roman Terrace, Mexborough, died at the home of his son, Mr. Reginald Hamm at Whitley Bay on Tuesday.
Mr. Harrop was 67, and had been living with his son for eighteen months. His sister, Mrs. E. Overend, of 43, Adwick Road, Mexborough, said on Tuesday, “Mexborough people will remember him for his wit. He always had a smile and a joke for whomsoever he met.
Mr. Harrop was the fourth son of Mr. Thomas Harrop, a well-known auctioneer and valuer. Before he retired he worked as a wheel turner and fitter at Verity’s, White Lee Road, Mexborough. He joined this firm after leaving school, and worked for theme until his retirement.
Mr. Harrop, who married a Swinton girl, has been a widower for a number- of years. He leaves a son and another married sister living in Mexborough, Mrs. E. Shaw, of Addison Road.
He was a popular member of Main Street W.M.C.
