Newsboys’ Cycle Race
D. Blinkho, the winner, about to start in the ten miles road race for Mexborough newsboys, arranged by Mr. Ernest Smith, of the Mexboro’ firm of cycle dealers, C. Smith & Sons, who presented medals for the three test times returned.
The race was held on Sunday morning on the Barnsley —Doncaster road between Hickleton cross roads and the Sun Inn, Mr. D. Smith acting as starter with the assistance of Messrs. T. Oldfield and B. Goodman, of the Mexborough Cycling Club, as timekeepers.
Blinkho’s time was 27 minutes 21 seconds, L. Booth being second in 29 minutes 43 seconds, and A. Sewall third in 29 minutes 48 seconds.
