Starting Early
Though only 10 years of age, Kathleen Toulson, of nine, Orchard Street, Mexborough, has already collected a splendid batch of prizes through her efforts on the running track.
She has only failed to gain a place in four of the races in which she has competed, and has 1/21 prizes, eight second prizes, one further price.
The successes include a win in the 80 yards girl race at Bramall Lane, and she had also won the 80 yards girl’s handicap at Stainborough, open to schoolgirls in the Barnsley area, three years out of four.
She has also registered wins at the local school sports.
