Three Brothers Missing
Easter has not been a happy time for Mr. and Mrs. L. Millington, 32, Market Street, Mexborough, for on Saturday they received official information from the War Office that their three sons had been reported missing in Malaya since February 15th.
The sons, L/Bdr. Clarence Millington (33), Gunner Jim Millington (31), and Gunner Isaac Leonard Millington (24), were all serving together in an anti-aircraft battery when word was last received from them.
Clarence and Jim, together with another son, Bernard, who has since been released from the Army to take up other war work, were called up at the outbreak of war, were drafted to France almost immediately and were among the last troops to leave Dunkirk in June, 1940.
The other son was called up in 1939. Lance-Bombardier Clarence Millington is married and his wife lives at Minehead in while Gunner J. Millington’s wife resides in Church Street, Mexborough.
