Father and Son Meet

Lance-cpl. George Field (46), of 4, Wilson Street, Mexborough, at present serving in India, has recently met his step-son, Gunner Edward Roy Spence, who is serving in India with the Royal Artillery.

Both have been in India over a year, but it was only recently that they managed to meet. L/cpl Field volunteered in November, 1939, and took part in the Dunkirk evacuation. Since then he has served in the Middle East and India. During the last war he saw service with the York and Lanes. Regiment.

Gunner Spence volunteered in March, 1941, and another stepson, James Caldwell Spence served for a time in the R.A. as a bombardier, but is now back at the mines.
