Wounded and Missing
Mrs. E. Smallman, of 42, Arnold .Crescent, received official Intimation early in June that her eldest son, Pte. Roland Frederick Grindle (26) was reported wounded and missing in Burma from March 7th.
Pte. Grindle, who was educated at Dolcliffe Road School, joined the Forces about a month before the outbreak of war. He is engaged to a York girl, Miss Elsie Dance, who is serving in the N.A.A.F.I.
His step-sister, Pte. Edith Smallman (18), daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Smallman, is in the A T.S.
