Died Day after Grand-Daughter’s Wedding
Mrs. Myra Scholey, one of the Mexborough area’s most popular residents would have been 79 years old next month, died in bed on Sunday the day after her grand-daughter, Lynn Webster, was married. Mrs. Scholey who lived for the past three years with her daughter Mrs. Ivy Ardron at 42, Broome Avenue Swinton, resided for 30 years in Cowper Road, Mexborough.
Her husband, John, was for many years an agent for the Royal Liver Friendly Insurance Society and also a special constable.
Mrs. Scholey, who enjoyed sewing, knitting and embroidery, had seven children, 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral took place yesterday (Thursday).
