At Swinton Parish Church on Friday the wedding took place of Miss Esther Ward, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W Ward, 246, Wath Road, Mexborough and Mr Jack Travers, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Travers, Doncaster Road, Wath.
The bride, who was given away by her father wore a white satin gown with sleeves and yoke embroidered in diamante and a veil and wreath to tone. She carried mauve chrysanthemums. Attending her were Miss Monica Ward. Miss Mary Ward and Miss Mary Travers in blue satin and Miss Lucy Briscoe. Miss Margery Briscoe and Miss Joan Briscoe in pink satin. The page, Kenneth Lee, wore blue satin. The maids, who carried bronze chrysanthemums received regimental brooches from the bridegroom.
Mr. Harry Travers was best man and Mr. J. W. Lee groomsman. Among the gifts was an electric iron from the bride’s workmates. The bridegroom is serving with the Irish Guards.
