Blackpool Appointment

Mr. Jackson, assistant master at Dolcliffe Road Council School, has been appointed music and physical training master at Thames Road School, Blackpool, and take up his new appointment at the beginning of December.

Mr. Jackson is a native of Swinton, and after leaving Leeds Training College, his first teaching appointment was at Netherfield Lane Council School, Rawmarsh, in 1924. The following year he was transferred to Kilnhurst Council School, and moved to Dolcliffe Road two years later.

He has played a prominent part in the organisation of school athletics at Mexboro’, and was secretary of the Mexboro’ and. District Schools Athletic Association for five years.

Mr.Jackson is a member of the Primitive Methodist Church choir and of the Mexboro’ Operatic Society.
