A guard of honour was formed by the Manvers and Schofield Institute A.T.C. at the marriage of their Commanding Officer, Flight Lieutenant F. Cook, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. Cook, of Polar Farm. Adwick-on-Dearne to Miss Dorothy Athron Hobson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Hobson of 15, Simpson’s Place, Mexborough, at Mexborough Parish Church on Saturday. The Rev. G. Bernard officiated.

Given away by her father, the bride wore a two-piece in blue angel sponge crepe with brown accessories, and carried carnations. She was attended by Miss L. Hobson in a grey and blue two-piece with navy blue accessories; Miss M. E. Cook in a two-piece in blue and dusky pink with navy accessories, and Miss G. Barnett in a mauve dress with chocolate coloured accessories. The maids wore sprays of carnations.

The best man was Mr. E. Morgan and Mr. W. K. Stanley was groomsman. The bride travelled to Blackpool where the couple are to spend their honeymoon, in a blue two-piece with navy accessories over which she wore a fur fabric travelling coat.

Bride and bridegroom are both members of Manvers Main Sports Club. Flight Lieutenant Cook has been a member of Wath Operatic Society for over thirteen years and for the past twelve years has been captain of Manvers Main Cricket Club.
