Mexborough were completely overwhelmed by Notts County Reserves at Nottingham and Iost 6 – 0.

Mexborough played only moderately in the first half, and in the second they were quite outclassed by the swift-moving home forwards, of whom Lovatt was the hero.

He scored both goals by which Notts led in the first half, added two more in the second half and, after Sheldon had put on the fifth, came along with the sixth.
