Miss L. Venables (Mexborough) and Mr. W. Pendlebury (Bury)

Miss Louise Venables, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T, Venables, of 14, Cross Gate, Mexboro’, was married on Saturday at Mexborough Parish Church to Mr. William Pendlebury, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Pendlebury, 3, Britain Street, Bury, Lincs.

A gown of ivory satin cut on classical lines and terminating in a train embroidered with lovers’ knots was worn by the bride, who was given away by her father and carried red roses.

She was attended by Miss Bessie Venables and Miss Nellie Venables, in pink dresses, and by Miss Irene Robinson in a lavender coloured dress. The maids wore head-dresses to tone with their dresses and carried sweet peas.

Cpl. J. Venables was best man, and the groomsman Mr. T. Venables.

The bride’s travelling costume consisted of a navy blue satin dress and a strawberry pink coat with hat to tone. The honeymoon is being spent at Morecambe.
