Mr. T. A. Smith ( Mexborough) and Miss I. Lewis (Mexhorough).
The wedding took place at Mexborough Parish Church of Miss Ivy Lewis, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Lewis, of “Linden House,” Alexandra Road, Mexborough, to Mr. Thomas Athron Smith. youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Smith, of 22, Auckland Road. Mexborough.
The Rev. G. Bernard officiated, and Mr L. Fletcher was organist.
Given away by her father, the bride wore pale blue taffeta cut on Victorian lines, with a pale blue veil, and carried pink carnations. She was attended by Miss Florence Lewis, sister of the bride, who wore a mauve taffeta dress with a silver Juliet cap and veil and carried mauve tulips.
Best man was Mr. Roy Smith, brother of the bridegroom, and the groomsman was Mr. R. W. Lewis, brother of the bride. The bride’s mother wore a navy blue dress trimmed with white kid and silver fox fur, with hat and shoes to tone, and the bridegroom’s mother wore a blue floral dress and silver fox fur with hat and shoes to tone.
Master John H. Smith, bridegroom’s nephew, presented the bride with a silver horseshoe. The bridegroom’s gift’ to the bridesmaid was a string of pearls.
