Degree

Mr John Easton Thompson of 7, Cliff Street, Mexborough, has been awarded a B.Sc degree with honours in physics at Sheffield University.

Mr Thompson, who is 25, is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Thompson. A former pupil of Mexboro’ Grammar School, he served for three-and-a half years with the R.E.M.E. before going to the university.

He has applied for a post as a part-time teacher at the university for a further three years.
