Mexborough must have been well satisfied with their performance in taking two points from their visit to fellow championship hopefuls Frecheville on Friday.

Parker gave Town a first half lead when he picked up a cross from the left and hit a low shot into the corner of the net. Colley, who is now playing better than ever carved out the chance.

Bower also looked solid in defence and Mexborough gave nothing away at the hack, breaking down the Frecheville, attacks before they could become dangerous.

A fine solo effort by Whitehouse in the second half clinched the points for Town. He worked his way in from the wing and when everyone, including the. Frecheville ‘keeper, was expecting a centre, he cleverly slotted the ball inside the near post.
