Another “King’s Soldier”

Pte. Harry Haigh. aged 27. youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Haigh. 15, Cross Church Street, Mexborough, is serving in France.

He enlisted when he was 17 and served in India for six years. He attended the National School. Mexborough.

His sister, Mrs. Johnson of 2, White Lee Road. Swinton, has a “Mexborough and Swinton Times” dated January 8th, 1916. in which, among photographs of “Soldiers of the King,” is that of her late father, Pte. J. W. Haigh, of the 11th York and Lancasters, who died from wounds in the Great War.
