Mexborough Councillor’s Death.

Councillor Thomas Athron, of the Commercial Hotel, Mexborough, has died, following a seizure in a Mexborough street.

He was 58 years, of age, and had been a member of the Mexborough Urban District Council for fourteen years.

For several years he had been chairman of the Highways Committee, and had served a term chairman of the Council.

He was a very popular man and a prominent patron of local sport. He was also a considerable property owner.
